William Bishop Duncan

William Bishop Duncan passed away peacefully on January 12, 2023, at the age of 93, surrounded by his three daughters.

Bill was raised on Longstreet Farm in Holmdel; he was the last of many generations to live in the ancestorial home that dated back to the 1600s before his family turned it over to The Monmouth County Park System to become Holmdel Park in 1962. He went to local schools as a boy, then attended Blair Academy and the University of Virginia where he competed on the football and swim teams and was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1947 to 1953, including two years of active duty in Naval Aviation in the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea. His business career included N.J. Bell Telephone and the Bell & Howell Company in New York City. He was a former member of the Rumson Country Club and the Seabright Beach Club.

Patricia L. Ruland (nee Ward)

Patricia L. Ruland (nee Ward), age 76, left us peacefully after a short battle with cancer on 12-3-22. She was born in Long Branch, NJ and resided in Oceanport for the last 2 years. Patricia grew up in Rumson and graduated from Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School in 1964. She met her husband, Robert, when she was 15 years old and they married in 1965. They raised 4 children in Monmouth Beach and resided there for many years. Patricia spent her career at Shore Regional High School as an Administrative Assistant retiring in 2007 after 25 years. She joined the Monmouth Beach Ladies Auxiliary in 1975. She was president 10 times and Vice President 3 times. She also spent many hours preparing and serving the annual Monmouth Beach Firemen’s Fair.

Patricia was predeceased by her parents Lucille and William Ward, her brother and sister-in-law William and Karen Ward; her husband Robert in 2011; her brothers-in law, Gary and Thomas Ruland and her beloved dog, Nikki.

Lisa Hess

Lisa Hess, 62, passed away Jan 6, 2023 after courageously battling breast cancer. As a mother, grandmother, and wife, Lisa was a strong, warm, and gentle woman who loved her family fiercely. Lisa’s selflessness and compassion spilled into her 40 plus year career as a nurse, most recently working in Radiation Oncology at Riverview Medical Center.

Edmund B. (Ed) Ryan

EDMUND B. (Ed) RYAN, Jr. transitioned to eternal life at the age of 69 on December 28, 2022, after declining health following a stroke in 2020. Ed was born in Red Bank, NJ and graduated from Red Bank Catholic in 1971, where he excelled in basketball. He began his college studies at NC State and Brookdale CC, and graduated with a degree in Business from Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL. Ed began farming at a young age and his path led to a career with US Department of Agriculture, with posts throughout the South and eventually to Northern Vermont, where he worked as a USDA Supervisor as an agricultural border inspector. Mid-career Ed returned to his passion of farming and opened a farm stand in Colts Neck where he sold vegetables, flowers, pumpkins, Christmas trees, and his legendary tomatoes, then returning to USDA.

After retirement in 2011 Ed continued farming in Vermont on a smaller scale, growing a variety of summer vegetables. His hobbies included fishing, boating, and spending time with family. When his health declined Ed moved to North Carolina to be in the care of his sisters and brother-in-law.

Ann T. Campanella

Ann T. Campanella of Red Bank, NJ, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, December 25th at the age of 95. She was born on August 25, 1927, in New York City where she resided during her early childhood. In the 1930s she ventured to her mother Catherine Halvey’s hometown and lived in County Limerick, Ireland, where she had fond memories of taking cart and pony rides to her neighbors' homes on the Emerald Isle. When she returned to the States, she settled in New Jersey and attended Red Bank Catholic High School. Ann fell in love with Perry R. Campanella and his extensive Italian family that welcomed her with open arms. She married Perry in 1951 with whom she started a large family of her own. They had six children and raised them in Rumson, NJ.

Rose Maria Broccoli

Rose M. Broccoli, 74, of Red Bank, NJ has sadly left us after a year long battle with congestive heart failure.

Rose was born in the Bronx, NY and graduated from Washingtonville High School in NY. She worked for World Subaru, Lincroft NJ, and was a very long time member of the Red Bank Elks #233. Rose “broke the glass ceiling” when she became the very first female Exalted Ruler in the state of NJ for the Red Bank Elks #233. She served in this role for 2.5 years but remained very active even after stepping down from her role as ER, she remained on the Board of Trustees for the last 3 years. She was a fierce woman with so many friends and family who loved her dearly. She truly loved her family at the Elks.

Dennis Bulmer

We are heartbroken to announce that Dennis Bulmer passed away on December 16th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong resident of Keansburg and Middletown, NJ. Dennis was born on September 12, 1950, 16 years later he met the love of his life, Linda, where they would spend the next 65 years building their wonderful family with 3 children, which would grow into 8 grandchildren.

Dennis graduated from Middletown HS North in 1969 and then enlisted in the National Guard during the Vietnam Era. Dennis worked as an Operating Engineer out of Local 825 in NJ for over 40 years. During this time, he also began building his smaller businesses that eventually led to the creation of B&D Equipment rentals.

Marion Irene Marrazzo

Marion Irene Marrazzo (Bennett) passed away on 12/16/2022.

Marion was born at home in Middletown, NJ, the daughter of Mary and Benjamin Bennett. Her childhood was during the Great Depression and World War II. Some of her fondest childhood memories include attending movies at the Carlton Theatre (especially those with Roy Rogers), swimming, boating and crabbing in the Shrewsbury River, swimming in the ocean at Sea Bright, and attending school in Red Bank. She was on of 10 children – 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

Marion worked at Eisner’s factory (now the Galleria in Red Bank) at the end of WW II making uniforms for the soldiers. She later relocated to Staten Island and raised her family there. She worked in her and her husband’s restaurant business and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a respected member of the community. She was known for her sense of humor, culinary skills, love of reading, writing poetry, telling jokes, doing crossword puzzles, listening to country music, being a valued friend and confidant and enjoying the simple things in life including a good cup of coffee.

Joyce Jablonski

On December 14th, 2022, Joyce Jablonski passed away at the age of 85. She was born and raised in Jersey City NJ. She met and married her high school sweetheart George Jablonski and together they had 4 children and raised them in Matawan NJ.

Both Joyce and George lived most of their married life in a neighborhood called Cheesequake Woods. This neighborhood provided precious memories, lifelong friends and a wonderful life for her family.

Margaret Mary Brennan

Margaret Mary Brennan (nee Corbett) passed away on December 15, 2022 after a month’s long battle with cancer. She was 84 years old. Margaret was born on November 28, 1938 on Staten Island, NY, the youngest child of Michael J. and Mary D. (nee Walsh) Corbett. Margaret was raised on Staten Island, as a member of Sacred Heart parish, and graduated from St. Peter’s High School for Girls in 1956. She worked as a secretary for the S.N.Eben Corporation, a Manhattan insurance brokerage, until her marriage to Edward T. Brennan on May 14, 1960. The couple had four children and resided in the Westerleigh section of Staten Island, in St. Teresa’s parish, for over 25 years.

Patrick Brian George

Patrick Brian George, 41, of West Palm Beach passed away peacefully on December 13, 2022. He was born in Beirut, Lebanon and grew up in Rumson, NJ. A graduate of The Marine Academy of Science & Technology high school on Sandy Hook, Patrick excelled academically and later enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Engineer. He graduated from Thomas Edison State University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science & Technology. An avid outdoor lover, he later moved to West Palm Beach, FL to work for the South Florida Water Management District as a Cyber Security specialist and later received his MBA from Florida International University.
