Gladys M. Shripka, 91, of Red Bank, passed away on April 9, 2016, at her beloved beach cottage in Cutchogue, NY with her loving son Harold by her side. Born in 1924, in Brooklyn, New York and resided there until 1993 when she moved to Red Bank, NJ. She dedicated her life to raising her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gladys was always omnipresent in the lives of her family and friends. Her love for her family and friends will not soon be forgotten.

Gladys was pre-deceased by her husband Lieutenant Harold F. Shripka (US Navy) in 1954 and her daughter, Susan M. Wieczerzak, in 1996. She is survived by son, Harold Shripka and his wife Donna of Fernandina Beach, FL, her grandchildren, Thomas Wieczerzak (Diana), Timothy Wieczerzak (Tracy), Suzanne Mahan (Brian), Amy Taylor (Brandon), Fred Murray, Brian Shripka, Allison Shripka, Theresa George, Christine Saggese, and her nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Daniel McGuire, 57, of Eatontown, formerly of Little Silver, passed away on April 7, 2016, in Red Bank. Dan was a long-time resident of Little Silver. He graduated from Rutgers University and was an insurance salesman at Dane Mihlon & Assoc in Shrewsbury. Dan was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Little Silver, a life member of the Little Silver Fire Department and served as Ex Chief and past President.

Daniel was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Geraldine, and his brother, Terrance. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Melissa Troy McGuire; his children, Thomas and Katherine at home; his brothers, Edward of Worcester, MA, Kevin and his wife Maureen of Downington, PA, and Joseph and his partner, Gustavo Cam of Asbury Park; his sisters, Mary Ziegler of Ithaca, NY and Ann Murdock and her husband Thomas of Rumson; his mother-in-law, Sybil T. Greening; brother-in--law, Michael Troy and his wife Jackie; and his loving nieces and nephews.

Anne G. Anderson, 99, of Ocean Grove, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2016, at the Francis Asbury Manor in Ocean Grove. Anne was born in Red Bank and was a 1934 graduate of Red Bank High School. She married Earl A. Anderson and was a homemaker. Anne was an active member of the Red Bank United Methodist Church and was the church treasurer for 22 years, as well as a member of the United Methodist Women's Group. She was also a former member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star of New Jersey.

Anne was predeceased by her husband, Earl, who died in 1976. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

Bob Nelson passed away on April 3, 2016. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ. At age 18 he joined the elite Navy SeaBees as a hardhat salvage and rescue diver during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged in 1954, he joined the Elizabeth Fire Department where he served for 25 years before retiring in 1986. Being good with his hands, he could build or fix anything and soon after retiring from the fire department, Bob became a proficient and accomplished carpenter, locksmith and plumber.

Bob loved the outdoors and had a deep understanding of weather and ocean conditions. He expressed this knowledge as a fisherman, pilot, boater, and as a camper.

Bob and his loving wife of 48 years, Phyllis, enjoyed many adventures together, traveling all over the US, Canada and the Caribbean.

Mr. Nelson loved his family and is survived by his wife Phyllis, his sons Ron and his wife Cheryl, Jim and his wife Leeanne, his youngest son Robbie and his daughter Laura. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Archer and sister Frances. Sadly he was predeceased by his brothers Harvey Nelson and Richard Nelson as well as his sisters Eleanor Gallagher, Jackie Marsden and Frances Sylvester.

Marion L. "Dolly" Quartararo, 99, passed away at her home, surrounded by family, on March 21, 2016. She previously lived in Roselle Park, NJ and worked as a seamstress in the garment industry, where she met her husband, Jacob Quartararo. They shared 56 years of marriage and had a daughter, Elizabeth.

Marion was the petite but feisty matriarch of her extended family. She never forgot a birthday, and was there whenever anyone needed a hand or a home-cooked meal. She showed her love by sharing countless pots of "gravy" and meatballs with family and friends. At Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park, she sang in the choir and was involved in the Rosary Altar Society and Catholic Daughters. She later joined St. James Church, Red Bank, and belonged to the St. James Seniors club. After her retirement from Gibson Associates, Cranford, Marion began baking for her daughter and son-in-law's food store, Readie's Fine Foods in Red Bank, and was famous for her coffee cakes. She was a lifelong Yankees fan, loved Dancing with the Stars, reading, and trips to the Dollar Store.

Genevieve Maniscalco, 89 years old of Middletown, NJ, died on Thursday, March 24, 2016. She was born in 1926 in Brooklyn, NY. She was one of a family of eight children, a twin sister and an additional five sisters and one brother.

Genevieve married Salvatore Messana on April 13, 1952. Sadly, he passed away 13 years later at the age of 37. She raised her two children on her own until she married the late Charles Maniscalco in 1972.

Genevieve was a NYC Public School Secretary for many years before moving to New Jersey in 1987 with her daughter Adelaide, son-in-law Frank, and their children.

Downie E. Stuart, 92 passed away peacefully on Wed. Mar 23, 2016 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her parents Zora (Kuzmanovich) Elich and Samuel Elich, her husband of 52 years, Joseph P. Stuart, brothers John Elich, Sam Elich, and Stanley Elich, sister Mildred Todorczuk and nephew Stanley Elich.

Surviving are her children, Jeffry Stuart (Lorraine) of Key Largo Fl., Ann Babeuf (Toby) of Rumson, NJ, and Gregory Stuart (Coleen) of Naples, ME, grandchildren Emily and Chris Babeuf, step-grandchildren Robert and Matthew Foley and many nieces and nephews. Downie was raised in Eldersville Pa., graduated Burgettstown High School, Duffs Business School, Pittsburgh and attended Columbia University Teachers College when Dwight D. Eisenhower was university president. When the United States entered World War II, she joined the war effort beginning in 1944 as a Navy Yeoman, continued in the Naval Reserve after the war and was honorably discharged in 1953.

Myron "Bill" Berry of Rumson passed away peacefully on March 10th, surrounded by his family and devoted friend, Nancy Kochanski after a long battle with cancer. Bill was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Suzanne "Sue" Lucking Berry, who he met while attending Ramsey High School. After graduation, Bill went on to obtain a degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. Upon finishing college, Bill and his wife moved to Amberg, Germany during Bill's two years of service in the United States Army. In 1978, Bill and Sue moved to Rumson, NJ where they raised their two sons, Darren and Max. Bill was proud to have imparted his love of fishing to his sons with whom he spent many cherished memories on the Navesink River. Bill retired from AT&T Lucent Tech and Avaya Communications in 2006. He had the privilege of working at Bell Laboratories in Holmdel during the companies' most innovative years.

While living in Rumson, Bill made many close friends. He enjoyed spending time with his long time golf partner, Richard Warga and his family; his most trusted friends, David Wilson, Doug and Marylou Greely and family; his work partner of 30 years, Marvin Weitzler; and his favorite comic relief, Janice Brennan. He also enjoyed sharing good spirits with all at Val's tavern and fishing with his children.

Mary Flanagan Rigaut, 90, of Fair Haven, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23rd after a brief illness. She was born in Meath Hill, Ireland and graduated from St. Joseph's College in Brooklyn, NY.

Mary was a retired elementary school teacher and an active volunteer. She was a Dame of the Order of Malta and made five pilgrimages to Lourdes. Mary was also an active member of the Church of the Nativity and Monmouth Beach Bath and Tennis Club, as well as past President of the St. Joseph College Alumni Association and past PTA President of Holy Cross School. She was a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered her time visiting the sick and homebound. Mary enjoyed traveling extensively, tennis, golf, theater and the beach. She had a generous spirit and was devoted to her faith, family and friends.

Stella Dancey, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, Yaya, and friend departed this life on March 24, 2016. She displayed the same strength, grace, and courage in her death as she did in her long and beautiful life.

Stella was born in 1922 in New Brunswick, NJ to Vassillios Gitantzides and Kalliope Tsoukaladakis, who both emigrated from Greece. Her father, who was known as "Bill the Barber" at Curchin's Barber Shop in Red Bank, was a proud patriot of his adopted country. Her mother was a seamstress and the daughter of olive farmers on the island of Samos.

Stella graduated from New Brunswick High School in 1940 and was trained soon after as a secretary. She started work at Camp Evans in Belmar during WWII, where she met her husband Frank after his service in Africa and Italy in the Army Air Forces. Soon after her marriage in 1948 Stella was employed at Ft. Monmouth where she supported our military members during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. During her career she had three children, John, Michael, and Kathy and raised them in Shrewsbury where she and Frank made their home. She retired from Ft. Monmouth in 1981, where she was able to work for many years with her sister, Catherine "Casey" Ross. After retiring, Stella enjoyed spending time with Frank, her family, and friends and attending reunions with Frank's WWII Bomber Group.
