Eileen Helen Perez, 72, of Eatontown, passed away peacefully with her sister by her side on Thursday, March 5^th at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9^th from 2 to 6 p.m., with a service at 5:45, at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank.

Eileen was born in Long Branch to Edwin and Helen McLaughlin of Belford, NJ. She graduated from Middletown High School.

For the past 17 years, Eileen worked as a title clerk for Schwartz Mazda and Sons in Shrewsbury. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandchildren in Westbrook, Maine and going to the dinner theater with her sister.

Mary Elizabeth Van Kirk (nee Lupton), 92, of Red Bank died peacefully at home on March 5, 2020. A longtime Monmouth County realtor, first at Walker & Walker and then with Heritage House, Holmdel, Mary was also a devoted wife and beloved by all. Born in Long Branch to Rolland and Mary Ely Lupton, she grew up in the Fairview section of Middletown.

Mary graduated from the Westtown School in 1945 and Goucher College in 1949. She was married to John (“Jack”) Van Kirk, Jr, for 58 years until his death in 2007.

John James Mego Sr, age 75, of Red Bank, died peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, February 27, 2020.  John was a lifelong resident of Red Bank. He had a love for this town where he was a member of the Red Bank Volunteer Fire Department for 55 years and an Ex-Fire Chief out of the Relief Engine Co.

He is predeceased by his wife of 45 years Elizabeth Mego, daughter Margaret Mego-Cooper, sisters Helen, Irene, Rio, Patsy, Gigi & Peggy and parents William Sr & Margaret Mego.

Helen E Richdale passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 2/25/2020. She was born in Queens, NY and moved to Leonardo, NJ at a young age. Helen was a graduate of Leonardo High School. She resided in Colts Neck for the past 72 years with her beloved husband George. Together they raised two children.

Helen was a bookbinder for many years & later owned her own craft store in Lincroft. She was a member of the Lincroft Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary & a founding member of the Lincroft First Aide Auxiliary. Helen was an avid reader of mystery novels & enjoyed gardening, cooking, jigsaw puzzles, & spending time at home with her family, dogs, horses, & donkeys.

 Anne J. Alberta passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 surrounded by her family at Jersey Shore Medical Center. She was 95 years of age.

Anne was born Anne Grace Brescia in Newark, N.J. on April 27, 1924. Her parents were Patrick and Mary Grace Brescia. She also had one sister, Mary (Brescia) Cassio. All predeceased her.

Anne grew up in Elizabeth, N.J. and attended, Holy Rosary Elementary School, Battin High School, and Berkeley Secretarial School in East Orange, N.J. She was later employed as a Secretary in the Medical Dept. of the New York Times in New York City, N.Y., where she was employed for several years before resigning to raise her family.\

Our dearly loved Zachary Misch, 30 years old, finished his work on the planet on February 18.  He was born full of zest, fascinated with the world, but with an oversized heart of compassion that became exhausting for him.

Even so, he became diligent with his schoolwork, thrived at his job at PriMed, and had taken up running again. He was an elected committeeman in Rumson.
Zack is survived by his extended family and the many people he touched.

Zack walked fiercely through Dante’s Inferno and Purgatory.
May he rest peacefully now in Heaven. We are blessed to have known him, and will miss him ever so much.

Peter M. Delaney, former teacher, vice principal, principal, and assistant superintendent in the Old Bridge schools, died on February 16 at the age of 82.  After his retirement in 1996 he became a consultant to schools in the Middle East, traveling primarily to Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. 

During his tenure in Old Bridge, Dr. Delaney led the township wide initiative that would merge Cedar Ridge High School and Madison Central High School to create Old Bridge High School.

Peter Delaney was raised in South Amboy where he played basketball and baseball at St. Mary’s High School.  He graduated from Monmouth College in 1960, received a Master’s Degree from Seton Hall, and his doctorate from Nova University.

On Monday, February 10, 2020, Irene Boles-Petry, of Little Silver, NJ, died at the age of 67 after a brief illness.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, Irene graduated from Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, PA, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Studio Art, later earning a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching from Monmouth University School of Education, West Long Branch, NJ.  In her early career, Irene was employed by Cecilian Academy of Philadelphia, PA, and later served as an editor for the management consulting firm, Booz Allen Hamilton, Tinton Falls, NJ.

Donald R. Patterson, Sr., 91, of Red Bank, NJ died on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, having lived a beautiful life in a town he loved. 

Donald was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and public servant.  He was compassionately cared for in his final months by the staff of the New Jersey Firemen’s Home in Boonton, NJ. 

Donald, nicknamed “Scratchie”, graduated from Red Bank High School in 1948 and was voted “Best Dressed” and enjoyed his time on the football team.  He served in the US Navy for four years as a Radioman 2^nd Class aboard the USS Corregidor and the USS Tappahannock.  A lifelong public servant, he retired from the Red Bank Police Department after 34 years of service, attaining the rank of Sergeant and served as Past President of PBA Local 39.  Donald was also a member of the Red Bank Volunteer Fire Department, as a member of Independent Engine Company for 67 years, where he served as Captain and was also a member of the Red Bank Volunteer First Aid Squad.   Enjoyed as a lifetime hobby, he was an FCC licensed amateur radio operator with the call sign WB2FBC. 

Dolores Thomson, loving wife of 72 years of John Thomson passed away on January 28, 2020.   

Dolores is survived by her husband John, her three children, Joann, wife of Stephen Lazorchak, Paul and his wife Susan, and Robert and his wife Carol.  Dolores had three grandchildren Adam Lazorchak married to Hayes, Mary married to Kevin Fennessy, and Eric Thomson married to Dierdre, and four great grandchildren Cassidy and Avery Fennessy, Alexander Lazorchak, and Claire Thomson.
