Nick Glassman of Fair Haven, NJ passed away unexpectedly on January 20^th, 2022.

Born in 2001in New York City, Nick graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, NJ where he excelled in academics and was currently attending Providence College in Providence, NJ.

Nick was passionate about sports, having played both football and baseball through middle school. An avid Yankee and Giants fan, he was a regular attendee at Yankee and Met Life Stadiums with friends and family alike. In the Winter, Nick could be found snowboarding in Utah or Vermont and in the Summer, golfing at Navesink Country Club or boating on Lake George and in Long Beach Island. A devoted friend, brother and cousin; those who knew Nick knew of his generous personality, his bright outlook on life and his desire to help each person he met. Nick always had time for others; always giving. His most cherished times were spent with his family and friends.

Beverly Meryl Sommers (nee Berke) left us on 1/22/22, at the age of 79. She was born in Orange, NJ, on Dec. 5^th, 1942 and grew up in Middletown, NJ. She then resided in Highlands, NJ for 45 years. Meryl was a 1964 graduate of Trenton College with a major in elementary education achieving two master’s degree at a later time. She worked as an elementary school teacher in Middletown, NJ until she retired. She also worked part-time for many years at Sands Beach Club.

Raymond Taylor, Sr., of Fair Haven, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, at the age of 98. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey, Raymond moved to Fair Haven in his youth, where he would later marry Elizabeth Howard also of Fair Haven.

As a young man, Raymond served in the Civilian Conservation Corps at Fort Dix and various other locations and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. During World War II, he served in the Alaskan Aleutian Islands and he was stationed in Australia while serving in the Pacific Theater. He also did service during the Korean War, finishing his military service with the rank of sergeant first class, and receiving a distinguished service medal, a Korean War commemorative medal, and other awards. He was an active member, and commander, of Veterans of Foreign Wars and The American Legion.

Following his military career, Raymond returned to Fair Haven and worked as a custodian at Markham Place School in Little Silver, NJ for 37 years. Raymond was a true provider for his family and loved to stay busy, so he took on extra work in various other jobs, including custodial work at a local law office and employment at the Frank J. Perri Luncheonette and Delicatessen on River Road.

Antoinette Marie Sexton (nee Leon) passed away peacefully during an afternoon nap in Allegria at Ocean Grove on 1/16/22. She was born in Hoboken, NJ, where she met her future husband James Joseph Sexton when they were 5 years old. They were married for almost 58 years until his death in 2005. She lived most of her life in Hudson County where she worked in a variety of clerical and book keeping positions. She moved to Monmouth County when she was 85 and lived on her own until she decided she was tired of cooking and moved to an assisted living facility.

She celebrated her 100^th birthday in 2021.

Clinton Vail Kuehl of Shrewsbury, New Jersey died on January 11, 2022 at the age of 75.

Clinton grew up in Rumson, NJ, graduated from Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School and served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years.

As a young man, he established the Clinton Kuehl Construction Company, becoming a highly respected building contractor in Monmouth County for 50 years. He used his gifts to envision, draft, and execute designs with precision and skill.

Judith Hoyt Dorn, 78, of Ocean Township, formerly of Little Silver, died peacefully at home on January 11 after a long illness. Born in Rumson, NJ, she graduated from Rumson-Fair Haven High School and the University of Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene program.

Throughout her career as a hygienist, she worked for several local practices, most recently with Drs. Gardiner and DiTuri in Shrewsbury.

Judy was known for her warm personality and giving heart, regularly putting herself before others. Over the years, she volunteered with the Little Silver First Aid Squad; at the Red Bank Salvation Army; and as a Reading Buddy at the Red Bank Primary School.

A member of the First Presbyterian Church at Rumson for her entire life, Judy enjoyed the fellowship and faith the church community shared. Her hours of volunteer work with the church and its community reflect the strong faith she carried throughout her life.

Dr. Michel P. Serieye, 89, of Red Bank, passed away peacefully surrounded by his partner Lynn Azzolina and family at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey on January 5th, 2022. He was born on August 12, 1932 in Lugan, France where he grew up on a farm in Lugan in the Aveyron. He moved to the United States at the age of 29 to advance his career, after graduating from Universite Pierre and Marie Curie Faculty de Medicine in Paris in 1961. After relocating to the United States, he had his internships at Truesdale Hospital and Unity Hospital in 1962 and 1963, respectively, then went on to complete residency in psychiatry at the Rockland Psychiatric Center in 1965. He was also attained in 1977 board certification in psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Vincent J. Russo, 93, of Oceanport, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on January 3, 2022, in the care of his faithful caregiver of nearly eight years, Kofi Kubi. Vincent was born to Theresa and Vincent J. Russo and raised in Hillburn, NY.

Vincent, a grateful first-generation American, graduated high school in 1946 and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Europe. During this time, he had the unexpected opportunity to travel through Europe. After graduating from Kean University, on the G.I. Bill, he began teaching woodshop in public schools, first in Ramsey before moving south to Rumson where he set up the first woodshop, later called industrial arts, at what was then the new Forrestdale Elementary School. He was a true craftsman, turning his talents to building Cape Cod style houses in town during the summers. Although he enjoyed working in education and was eligible for tenure in 1961, he instead took a chance on making building and construction his life’s work.
