Steven Raimondi

Steven Raimondi, age 30, passed away on June 7, 2018.  Steven grew up in Middletown and resided there for 30 years.  He was a graduate of Middletown High School North and worked at various locales around Middletown.  Steven lived his life bringing laughter and comfort to every person he met.  His greatest enjoyment was being inventive in the kitchen or in the studio creating music.  The person he lived his life for was his daughter, Skylar Ann.

Geoffrey Stevens

Geoffrey Stevens passed away on May 25, 2018, at Hackensack University Medical Center.  Jeff was born in Akron, Ohio, and spent his childhood in Florida, where he learned to love everything about the natural world.  He moved to Red Bank in 1992 and was employed by Best of Nature natural products company as product development engineer. His interests and talents were diverse and included developing soil mixtures for vegetables, kayaking, hiking, meteorology, and the practices of shamans he met in the Amazon rain forest. 

Betty Fanciullo

Betty Fanciullo died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 26, 2018.  Survived by her loving and devoted husband, Gilbert Fanciullo, married for 70 years.  Also survived by her cherished and beloved children, Gilbert (Peggy), William, Lisa Gorman (Michael), and Susan, grandchildren, sister Ethel, nieces and nephews.  
 
Throughout her life, Betty was a tireless and generous volunteer for charitable organizations including, American Cancer Society and St. Vincent’s Hospital in Staten Island.  
 

Carol Ann Moran

Carol Ann Moran nee Cunningham, 82, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, peacefully at home in Ocean Township. She was a three-time breast cancer survivor and fought her final battle courageously to the end. Carol was born in Bronxville, New York, and lived in Oceanport for 30 years before moving to Ocean Township. Carol was a devout parishioner of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in West End.

Carol was a 1956 graduate of Mount Saint Vincent College. She worked briefly for Rockefeller & Co. in NYC before marrying her college sweetheart and starting her family. She was an indomitable matriarch and considered her three children and one grandchild to be her greatest accomplishments; they in turn attribute much of their own success to her healthy and consistent doses of good old-fashioned Irish guilt (and wisdom).  Carol’s life was made complete when she became a grandmother in 1998. Granddaughter Kate was the apple of both Carol and her husband’s eye and will forever be “loved to the moon and back.”

Barbara Woolson Dillon

Barbara Woolson Dillon, 87, of Fair Haven, NJ, passed away on Tuesday May 16, 2018. Barbara was born in 1931 in Newark NJ. She was predeceased by two husbands, her college sweetheart, Roland Woolson, Jr. and her treasured 2nd husband Zale Dillon. Barbara was the beloved and well respected head librarian at the Oceanic Free Library in Rumson, NJ for 24 years.

In addition to her love of books, Barbara loved tennis and was a member of the Sea Bright Lawn Tennis and Cricket club playing skillfully right into her 80’s. She sang in a church choir for more than 70 years and was known to break into song at a moment’s notice by friends and family. In her life, Barb was a peace activist, an avid bridge player and a talented knitter. She was an ocean lover, a great friend to many and a wonderful mom and grandmother.   Well loved in her town of Fair Haven; she could chat with anyone and made everyone she met smile.

Vincent Anthony Izzo

Vincent Anthony Izzo, "Pop", passed peacefully in the company of his loved ones early on May 9th, 2018.  A Korea era veteran sailor, husband to Celia, father to 6, grandfather to 18, and great-grandfather to 12, his wealth was in his family and in his soul.  He shared the riches of his heart with everyone, and in turn was loved by all. Burial will be at First Presbyterian Church, 352 Sycamore Ave., Shrewsbury, NJ  07702.

 

Irene Sincox

Irene Sincox, 94, of Shadow Lake (Middletown Twp) passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Riverview Medical Center, surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. Irene was a communicant of St. James RC Church, Red Bank.  In 1944, Irene married the love of her life, George Sincox. They lived in North Jersey prior to moving to Monmouth Co in 1959.  Irene and George also enjoyed spending time at their home in Ft Pierce FL, winning many prizes in Golf and Bocci.

Therese McGowan

McGowan, Therese Marie on May 7th in her 92nd year. Born in Park Slope, Brooklyn but raised her family in Hicksville, NY.

Predeceased by her dearly loved husband Harold “Mac” McGowan; her much beloved daughter Virginia and her much beloved son Tommy. Mother to her cherished daughters; JoanMarie, Theresa, Mary, Eileen and loved Godson Michael Kennedy. Also, Beloved “Mom” to Karen, Geoff, Michael and Joe. Adored by her ten grandchildren; Jacki, Nicole, Danny, Amanda, Michael, Anthony, Alexandria, Megan, Erin and Michelle. Also beloved to her 8 GREAT-Grandchildren!

Catherine (Kay) Taylor Trezza

Catherine (Kay) Taylor Trezza, 84, passed away on May 3, 2018, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.  She resided in Port Monmouth, River Plaza and Lincroft before moving to Ocean in 1994.

Kay worked at CECOM, Ft Monmouth, as a Management Analyst retiring in 1993 after 30 years of service.  She then worked part time at Crystal Cleaners in Little Silver.  She was a graduate of Middletown High School Class of 1951. 

She enjoyed going on bus trips to see plays and to Atlantic City and walking the boardwalk.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.  Kay was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Church in Lincroft.

John Vitrano

John Vitrano, 94, of Howell, formerly of Red Bank, passed away on May 2, 2018.  John was born in Red Bank to Giovanni and Frances.  He was a self-employed carpenter who loved racing pigeons.  John was a member of the of the Rod and  Gun Club in Bayonne.  He was also a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua RC Church. John is predeceased by his wife Helen.  He survived by his son John M. Vitrano of Howell.

Visitation will be Monday, May 7th from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, 121 Bridge Avenue, Red Bank.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

 

Elizabeth Meara

Elizabeth Mary Meara, age 103, passed away at home among family on Tuesday, May 2, 2018.  Born in Knochlough, Oldcastle, County Meath, Ireland on August 5, 1914, Elizabeth was the last survivor of 13 children born to Patrick and Kate McGrath.  Elizabeth came to the United States at age 16, lived in New York and in 1939 married her late devoted husband, Stephen Meara, a veteran of World War II, and became a citizen of the United States in 1953.

Elizabeth worked at sundry jobs and retired from the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in 1979.  Elizabeth was devoted to her three children, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Elizabeth and Stephen relocated to Red Bank, New Jersey in 1980 and became communicants of St. James RC Church.
