Lillian Wilson

Lillian Wilson, Age 98, passed away on May 27, 2016. She was born in Brooklyn on May 17, 1918 to August and Elizabeth Pflug. Lillian grew up in Red Bank, graduated from Drake Business College, and worked at Picatinny Arsenal.

Lillian married George F. Wilson, Jr. in Red Bank Methodist Church on June 6, 1942. Together they had two daughters, Carol and Margaret (Peggy) and raised them in Rumson, NJ.

Lillian was a member of the DAR, a Girl Scout Leader, a Member of the Eastern Star, typed manuscripts for Pulitzer Prize winning author John Toland, was personal secretary to Horace Horner of Rumson and was the Secretary to the Superintendent of RFHRHS.

She became semi-retired in 1970 and moved to Vergennes, VT, where she owned and operated the New Haven Motel. In 1973 she moved to Xenia, Ohio, then Milford, OH, where she developed lasting friendships at Royal Hills Village. Lillian returned to NJ in August 2015 where she resided at Brandywine at Sycamore.

Lillian was predeceased by her husband George F. Wilson, Jr. and her daughter Carol Olson. She leaves one daughter Peg Wilson of Long Branch and three grandchildren, Jean Cook of Katy, TX, George Melvin of Amelia, OH and Mark Walburg of Rolla, MO, three great-grandchildren, Rebecca Melvin, Lian Cook, and Elizabeth Cook and an her ex-son-in-law and friend, David Olson, Cinncinati, OH.

All arrangements are private under the direction of Thompson Memorial Home.
