Mary Flanagan Rigaut

Mary Flanagan Rigaut, 90, of Fair Haven, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23rd after a brief illness. She was born in Meath Hill, Ireland and graduated from St. Joseph's College in Brooklyn, NY.

Mary was a retired elementary school teacher and an active volunteer. She was a Dame of the Order of Malta and made five pilgrimages to Lourdes. Mary was also an active member of the Church of the Nativity and Monmouth Beach Bath and Tennis Club, as well as past President of the St. Joseph College Alumni Association and past PTA President of Holy Cross School. She was a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered her time visiting the sick and homebound. Mary enjoyed traveling extensively, tennis, golf, theater and the beach. She had a generous spirit and was devoted to her faith, family and friends.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Eugene P. Rigaut and son, Eugene M. Rigaut and five brothers. She is survived by her sons, Michael Rigaut (Kate); John Rigaut (Eleanor); a daughter, Kathy Ramirez (Ignacio) and daughter-in-law, Linda Harrington and six granddaughters, two grandsons, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 7-9pm Monday, March 28th at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday at Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Road, Fair Haven, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's College Convent, 232 Clinton Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11205.
