Audrey Johnson

Audrey Johnson of Middletown, NJ passed away on Jan. 28, 2018. She was predeceased by loving husband, William C. Johnson, Jr. and devoted son Lars Wikman, stepsons Kirk Johnson and William C. Johnson III, and sister, Shirley Kluin. She is survived by sisters Dottie Ralph, Beverly French, Pat Newman, brother Fred Brink, and her children Lisa Woodfield, A. Christopher Wikman and wife Jane, Eric Corser Wikman and wife Jennifer, daughter-in-law, Julie Wikman, step daughter-in-law, Kathy Johnson, stepson, Chris Johnson. Audrey adored her grandchildren, Bill, Grete, Emily, Andrew, Max, Sarah, David, Sean, Will, and Colin and seven great- grandchildren.

Audrey was a lifelong resident of Monmouth County where she was married and raised her four children. A natural Scandinavian-heritage beauty, she appeared on the cover of Life magazine when in her teens. Audrey was a graduate of Red Bank High School, a member of Navesink Country Club, and an avid gardener and bird enthusiast. She enjoyed playing golf (scoring a hole-in-one in 2000), playing mahjong, and spending time with her friends, some of whom she had known for 70 years. Audrey spent her life putting others before herself along with being known for her kind and generous spirit.

Visitation will be at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank on Thursday, Feb 1st from 4 to 7 PM.  There will be a funeral service on Friday at 10 AM at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the National Audubon Society.
