John Orlando, 93 of Shrewsbury, passed away on November 29, 2017. John was born to Vito and Agatha in Youngstown, Ohio. He graduated from Ohio State University with an Engineering Degree. He was a Mechanical Engineer with International Nickel Co in Sterling Forest, NY before his retirement. He and his wife Ann have resided in Shrewsbury for the last 19 years.
John is survived by his wife of 70 years Ann (Lukcik) Orlando; his son John Orlando and his wife Deborah of Vernon, NJ; his daughter Michele Rankin and her husband Don of Fair Haven; his grandchildren Robert, Christine, Stacey and Stephanie; and 5 great-grandchildren. He dearly loved his grandchildren.
He was a master bridge player and volunteered with the Master Gardener’s Program in Ocean and Freehold. He liked to play golf, fish, crab and work in his vegetable garden.
Visitation will be Monday, December 4th from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 5th at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 121 Bridge Avenue, Red Bank. Interment will follow at Mt.
