Christopher S. Cerra, 69, of Highlands, New Jersey, passed away on September 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Christopher was born on July 28, 1957, in Turin, Italy. Following his adoption, he came to the United States and grew up in Sharon, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in finance. Christopher’s last role was as a project manager with UBS in Weehawken, New Jersey. He retired in 2021 and enjoyed several well-deserved years of retirement, spending his time pursuing the many interests and adventures he loved.
Christopher married Kathleen on October 11, 1987, in Byram, Connecticut. During their 38 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling together to the Caribbean and Europe as well as going out to dinners and museums in New York. They also enjoyed many bike rides and walks on Sandy Hook as well as beach days in Sea Bright, New Jersey. He was a proud and devoted father to Lauren and Ian, who will remember him for his outspoken nature and his unwavering commitment to his family. He always put his wife and children first, making sure their needs were met and that they were cared for and supported in every way. He was also a loving grandfather to Landon and Connor.
Christopher’s hobbies included: playing golf, following the stock market, and reading biographies. He had a particular appreciation for Italian and French cuisine, and he loved nothing more than a good meal accompanied by lively conversation and spirited debate. Always curious and engaged, Christopher was forever looking forward to planning his next adventure and discovering new places, experiences, and memories along the way.
He was predeceased by his parents, Rosemary and Arthur Cerra. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, his daughter, Lauren, son, Ian and grandchildren, Landon and Connor.
Christopher will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at St. Mary, Mother of God Church, 19 Cherry Tree Farm Road, Middletown, New Jersey, on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
