Robert “Bob” Lanfrank, beloved husband, father, grandfather, barber, businessman, mentor, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026 at the age of 85.
Born to the late Robert Alfred Lanfrank and Evelyn Lanfrank, Bob dedicated his life to his family, his community, and the profession he loved. At just 17 years old, he began his career at Cardner’s Barber Shop in Red Bank. By the age of 20, he had purchased the shop and remained its proud owner and barber for the next 65 years. Even in the final weeks of his life, Bob’s dedication to his craft never wavered, as he continued working and serving his loyal customers.
Over the course of his remarkable career, it is estimated that Bob cut more than half a million heads of hair. To many, a visit to his barber chair was about much more than a haircut. It was a place for conversation, laughter, advice, and friendship. Generations of families sat in his chair, and countless customers became lifelong friends.
Known affectionately by many as the unofficial “Mayor of Red Bank,” Bob was a familiar face throughout the community. He had a gift for connecting with people and was often sought out not only for a great haircut, but also for his recommendations on the best restaurants, local happenings, and trusted advice. His warmth, wisdom, and genuine interest in others made him a beloved fixture in the town he proudly called home.
Above all else, Bob cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Tindra Lanfrank; his children, Robert Lanfrank and Michele Lanfrank; and his cherished granddaughters, Isabella Lanfrank and Gianna Lanfrank. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert Alfred Lanfrank and Evelyn Lanfrank.
Bob’s legacy is one of hard work, dedication, integrity, and service to others. The relationships he built, the lives he touched, and the example he set will continue to inspire all who knew him. He also supported his loving wife in her philtonsthopic endeavers which supported many chartities.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12th from 2-5 pm with a prayer service at 4:30 pm at Thompson Memorial Home 310 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bob to https://www.ashleylaurenfoundation.org/. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
