Marjorie Lynn Durdack

Marjorie Lynn Durdack

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marjorie Lynn Durdack, a hometown “Jersey Girl”, slipped away peacefully in her home seeing the silhouette of the pole barn standing silently in the snow in her home she loved on February 15, 2026 at the age of 84.

She was born and raised in the Garden State and a proud Jerseyan. She was born in Long Branch, NJ and raised in Little Silver, NJ as one of a set of identical twin girls. After graduating from Red Bank High School, Red Bank, NJ, she was married and raised four children in Holmdel, NJ.

Following her divorce, she moved to Absecon, NJ, purchased and operated the Sunryser Country Store and home in Absecon, NJ. Many years later she moved to Galloway Township, NJ and purchased and restored her home, an old, historic, farmhouse on acreage. She was a woman who cherished her roots, growing them deeply in Little Silver, Holmdel, Absecon and Galloway. Even while tackling the toughest challenges, she was truly hardworking woman, who was not afraid to tackle any task given to her. She was a nurturing presence, providing a safe harbor of love and support for her family and friends.

She loved her Christ Church Shrewsbury, Episcopal Church, her Eastern Bluebirds, old houses, two story barns, swinging wooden gates, dirt roads, streams & rocks. She especially loved her dogs, Paint, Missy, Dolly, Curly, AC, Freckles and Peaches.

She is survived by her four children Thomas (Kim), Jennifer (Hal), Joseph, Carrie (Danny) and her grandchildren, Lauren (Mitch), Rebecca, Sam, Ben, David (Savannah), and Isabella, and many nieces and nephews and brother Phillip (Beverly). She is predeceased by her mother Marjorie, her father George Ryser, her brother George “Butchie” (Shirley) and her sister Marion Phillips.

Our Mother, Nana, Aunt and friend will be forever missed and, in our hearts, forever remembered. Rest Peacefully Mommy, Nana. Until we meet again.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20th from 10 am to 12 pm, with a service at 12 pm at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Burial will follow at Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel, NJ.
