Claire Marino passed away peacefully August 19, 2025 after a long illness. She was born in Long Branch, NJ to Lydia and Joseph Belmont. Claire attended Star of the Sea Academy in Long Branch and Red Bank Catholic in Red Bank, NJ.
She is predeceased by her husband Edward Marino and her sisters June Turchyn, Audrey Kozicky, and Barbara Bennett as well as her nephew Joseph Turchyn. She is survived by her nieces and nephews Nancy Gallagher (John) of Skillman, NJ, Christopher Bennett (Leslie) of Pilot Mountain, NC, William Turchyn (Ellen) of New York City, NY, Robert Turchyn (Peggy) of Belmar, NJ, Douglas Turchyn of Spring Lake Heights, NJ and Debbie Rogers (Mike) of Havre de Grace, MD.
Claire was employed by Meridian's Riverview Medical Center for over 25 years serving as the manager of the Booker Cancer Center's Cancer Registry. Claire worked closely with and gained the respect of numerous physicians in developing Riverview's cancer program. She took great pride in insuring that the program passed the American College of Surgeon's accreditation surveys every 3 years. She was also instrumental in assisting the Booker Cancer Center in obtaining and maintaining the breast cancer program's national accreditation for state of the art diagnostic and treatment excellence.
Claire was devoted to her family but one of her greatest passions was dogs.She was an avid watcher of the Westminster Dog Show and her beloved golden retrievers were among her greatest joys.
The family would like to give special thanks to Claire's dear friends Linda and Paul Zambrano and Andy Kraemer for all of the exceptional support they provided as well as Millennium Memory Care of Monroe and Ascend Hospice for the excellent care they provided.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28th from 10-11 am at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Graveside service will be held after the visitation at 11:30 am at Glenwood Cemetery, West Long Branch, NJ.
