Maryann passed peacefully at home on June 16, 2025 with her husband Thomas and sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Dominique, Edward, and Timothy. She is also survived by her sister Judy (John) Bardon and sister-in-law Anne Mary (Jim) McCullough and brothers-in-law Neil (Jill) Devine and Matthew (Joan) Devine. She was also blessed with 10 nieces and nephews, and 10 grand nieces and nephews.
A true New Jerseyian, Maryann was born in Jersey City, grew up in Neptune, went to Saint Rose HS and Lehigh University and played pitcher and shortstop for the varsity softball teams. Upon graduation, (Class of 1980) with her mechanical engineering degree, she worked many years for Exxon/Infinuem in Linden, NJ. There she excelled, including contributions to teams with multiple recognized US patents.
She enhanced her community by teaching CCD classes for years at St Leo the Great, assembling dozens of quilts given to charities with friends at Rebecca’s Reel Quilt Guild, raising 23 puppies for the Seeing Eye of Morristown, NJ to guide blind citizens. When her garden produced an overabundance (frequently) she donated any spare produce to Lunch Break of Red Bank NJ. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family at home and at the beach, as well as creating quilts for home and family. She joins her parents Edward and Mary Waskiewicz in the next life where they will collectively enjoy much needed beach time and watch over family generations until they reunite with us in everlasting glory.
The family thanks her primary care physician Dr. Iza Boesler and the team at Regional Cancer Care Associates of Little Silver for the excellent and compassionate care she has received these past 2+ years in particular Dr. Fitzgerald and NP DeSevo.
