It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rosario Elmo, who left this world on March 24, 2023 at the age of 69, in Manahawkin, New Jersey. Rosario was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many. His passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Rosario was born on July 29, 1953 in Passaic and grew up in Fairfield where he was a talented high school athlete in both wrestling and football. He eventually settled in Barnegat, where he raised his family and developed countless friendships over the years.
Roy was a devoted husband to his wife Marsha of 41 years, loving father to his children, Melissa (married to Kelly Addison) and Michael and dedicated brother to his sister Mary Lembeck. In his free time, Rosario enjoyed boating, riding his Harley and spending time with his family. He and Marsha loved to go crabbing off their boat and take leisurely motorcycle rides through the south Jersey countryside.
Roy will always be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, unwavering work ethic, and devotion to his family. He was involved in several businesses throughout the years and most recently worked in the commercial security field where he was respected and admired by all his co-workers. Roy's legacy will live on through his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout his lifetime.
A Memorial Gathering will be held in Rosario's honor on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation, 1140 Route 72, West Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
