Joseph F. Patsco, 85, passed away peacefully on 6/30/22.  Born in Scranton, PA, he was a proud veteran who served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Elizabeth, NJ and went on to earn an associate’s degree in construction management from NJIT. Joe raised his family in the home he built in Elizabeth, NJ where he was a successful and respected General Contractor, and his work was featured in builders’ magazines. During his retirement, he spent most of his time enjoying fishing, competing in fishing tournaments, captaining deep sea charters, and wintering in Florida where he could relax and fish every day he could.

Joe touched the lives of all who knew him with his zest for life and his strong work ethic.  He was an avid sportsman, best known for his love of fishing & hunting as well as enjoying gastronomic feasts, playing cards, laughing, and playing the stock market. He taught his children how to enjoy life on the water - clamming, crabbing, fishing, water skiing, and boating while spending family time at their summer home "down the shore" in Lavallette. His children have fond memories of the time spent visiting Pennsylvania, planting and harvesting their acre garden with their extended family. Joe was a master at his craft and his children picked up his mechanical skills when they would man the flashlight as he fixed things, and when his son worked with him professionally. He taught them the value of honest work and precision and made them feel safe at home. Many will remember the rec room he built with his children in the basement where family and friends often gathered.

Joseph is predeceased by former wife Frances Patsco. He is survived by his loving children Lorraine Patsco, Joseph M. Patsco (Cathy Patsco), Carolyn Cook (Steven Cook), and cherished grandchildren David and James Cook.
