Dr. Michel P. Serieye, 89, of Red Bank, passed away peacefully surrounded by his partner Lynn Azzolina and family at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey on January 5th, 2022. He was born on August 12, 1932 in Lugan, France where he grew up on a farm in Lugan in the Aveyron. He moved to the United States at the age of 29 to advance his career, after graduating from Universite Pierre and Marie Curie Faculty de Medicine in Paris in 1961. After relocating to the United States, he had his internships at Truesdale Hospital and Unity Hospital in 1962 and 1963, respectively, then went on to complete residency in psychiatry at the Rockland Psychiatric Center in 1965. He was also attained in 1977 board certification in psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

He was a trusted and caring psychiatrist at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy since 1971 until his retirement in 2010. After retirement he was self-employed and he remained on staff at Raritan Bay with privileges, as well, other hospitals that merged with Hackensack Meridian Health after his retirement that include Bayshore Medical Center and Old Bridge Medical Center.

He was also on staff with privileges at Arnold Walker Nursing Home, Hazlet as well as several other area nursing homes until his passing.

He is predeceased by his parents, Louis Jules Auguste and Maria Lucie Comte Serieye, brothers and sisters, Louis Serieye, Georgette Bouissou née Serieye, Marie Jeanne and Roger Serieye.

Michel is survived by Roselyn “Lynn” Azzolina of Red Bank, his loving domestic partner of over 30 years, the Azzolina family, John, Joseph, Gregg, Judith, Mary Ann and his brothers, André Serieye and Casimir Serieye and his niece and nephews: Josiane Pleinecassagne, Jean Luc Bouissou, Jean Michel Serieye and Olivier Serieye in France.
