Michael J. Kramer

Michael J. Kramer

Michael J. Kramer, 40, of Red Bank, NJ, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021. Born in Martinsburg, WV, he grew up in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, where he attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School and Nottingham High School. He graduated from Drexel University with a degree in Architecture. Over the years, a few of the companies he worked for were InterArch in Mt. Laurel, NJ; WeWork, in NYC, Los Angeles, Shanghai, and Singapore; and most recently Gopuff in Philadelphia, PA.

Michael (or “Kramer”) loved many things: surfing, watches (“You’re never completely dressed without the right watch”), punk rock, a good cigar with his friends, his Porsche, the New York Rangers, his rescue pups Maggi and Rosie, but most of all, his beloved wife Chi Lee. He was a devoted and loving husband, and was excitedly awaiting the arrival of #BabyKramer, a son due January 8th. His loss is devastating to everyone who knew and loved him. And anyone who knew him DID love him.

During his short time on earth, Michael lived life to the fullest. His WeWork job afforded him and Chi the opportunity to work and live in Asia, and to travel extensively. He experienced more in his 40 years than most people experience in a lifetime. He was generous, caring, thoughtful, family-oriented, kind, respectful, and wise beyond his years. He was the kind of friend you wanted in your corner. He was a person who would always give you honesty. He was also, in a word, hilarious.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Chi Lee and his unborn son, Baby Kramer; his father, Larry Kramer and stepmother Fran of Stroudsburg, PA; his mother, Maureen Weber and stepfather Glenn of Ambler, PA; his brother Matt Weber (Lydia) of Austin, TX; his step-sister Erica Birkley of Cincinnati, OH; his father-in-law, Wai Kwok Lee, his mother-in-law, Tsui Wah Lee; his sister-in-law, Kitty Lee, all of Brooklyn, NY. He also leaves behind his Aunt and Godmother, Kathleen Wisdom (Harry) of Burnsville, MN; his Uncle and Godfather, Michael Brown (Laurie) of Keller, TX; his uncle James Brown (Kathy) of Galloway, NJ; his uncle Kevin Brown of Wilkes-Barre, PA; his step-uncle Jeff Weber (Linda); and his grandparents, William and Jeanne Nagel of Southampton, PA. Finally, he leaves behind his 7 cousins, Jason Brown (Allison) of Arlington, VA; Jeff Wisdom (Sarah) of Rosemount, MN; Andy Brown (Denise) of Frederick, MD; Jennifer McPartland (Pat) of Victoria, MN; Dan Wisdom (Mel) of Golden, CO; Matt Brown (Arin) of Newport Beach, CA; Amy Strese (Tommy) of Farmington, MN; and his Godson, Declan Patrick Brown of Arlington, VA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at 10:30 am at Holy Cross Church, 30 Ward Ave, Rumson, NJ 07760.

In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a Baby Kramer Fund for Michael’s unborn son. The link is https://everloved.com/life-of/michael-kramer/

Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
