Lorraine Jean Eovino

Lorraine Jean Eovino, 85 years old of Middletown,NJ, passed peacefully on Jan 7, 2020 at her place of residency in Middletown, NJ. She is predeceased by her parents Raymond and Josephine Strona; sister Lucille; brothers Ray Jr,Joseph and Richard Strona; her beloved 2nd husband Whitey Eovino and also her beloved daughter Gail Laura. She is survived by her brother Robert Strona of Birmingham,AL; her sons Ronald Laura of Toms River, NJ, Gary Laura of Middletown,NJ and Mark Laura of Middletown,NJ; her grandson Jason Joslin who was raised as her son and 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Lorraine born and raised in the Bronx, NYC, married at a young age and had four children. As the children grew older, she decided that raising them in the Bronx was not what she wanted, so she found a house in Middletown,NJ that she dreamed of owning. Story has it, she sat in Weichert Realty office on RT 35 for over 10 hours one day as the office manager told her time and time again that she did not have enough money to afford or to put down on the house. She told the office manager that that she was not leaving the office that day until she owned that house. Needless to say she left that day owning that house and it changed our lives from that day on, for the better.

Lorraine worked at Citi Corp in Shrewsbury, NJ for seven years and then worked as an in-home Nanny for a couple of homes. She took care of their children just like they were her own. She would be happiest having us all together, most times at her house, and cooking and baking for all of us and just having her family all together in one place. She also enjoyed her weekend get-aways with her beloved Whitey down at the B & B's in Cape May, NJ, and also going camping and bringing along her grandchildren. Family was the most important thing to her and she loved and did everything she could for the entire family, always.

Relatives and friends are welcome to visit on Friday, Jan 10,2020, at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank, NJ from 2 to 4 PM & 7-9 PM. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m.
