Carolyn Ann Zabawa, 72, of Red Bank, was suddenly called home to be with her Lord on August 24, 2019. Loving mother of Alyce Zabawa and Matthew Zabawa, and life-long spouse of the heart, Kenneth Kukura. Carolyn also leaves behind her cherished extended family members and close friends.
She is pre-deceased by her late husband,Stanley Zabawa, and parents, Eileen (Hiett) & Harold Wilkins.
Born in Decatur, IL, the family relocated to Monmouth county after her father was stationed at Fort Monmouth, NJ as a teenager. A graduate of Middletown HighSchool (‘65) and Ellen Cushing Junior College, Carolyn spent a good portion of her employment with Cooper Electric and Acme/A&P at various locations for over 20 years.
Carolyn was a member of the United Methodist Church in Red Bank, and often attended worship services at St. James Roman Catholic Church. She was die-hard NY Giants fan and an avid camper who enjoyed spending time with friends throughout the Northeastern region of the United States.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 6-9 PM at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank, New Jersey, 07701. A Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow the service at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Mem. Cemetery in Arneytown, New Jersey.
